Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, is a U.S.-Held political prisoner who, in 2010, was unjustly sentenced to 86 years in U.S. federal prison. #WithoutJustCause: The Case of U.S.-Held Political Prisoner Dr. Aafia Siddiqui sheds light on the U.S.’s approach to the issue of political prisoners, and the Global War on Terror’s impact on women in targeted countries. It provides an overview of the events that led to Aafia’s imprisonment, and what has happened to her since her 2010 conviction. #WithoutJustCause also exposes injustice imposed on Aafia and the other incarcerated women at “The Hospital of Horrors” FMC Carswell.

In the United States, Texas is the leader in state executions, and primarily executes people of color. Yet, there are many forms of state-sanctioned violence that result in the untimely deaths of racialized peoples.
Texas-Sized Injustice: Lethal State Technologies is the first of a two-part series on lethal state violence. In collaboration with Obie Weathers and Tony Egbuna Ford, both of whom are serving death sentences on Texas’s death row, we have created this resource to highlight the interconnectedness of deadly state-sanctioned punishment systems. Through this effort, we aim to broaden the death penalty abolition movement to include other forms of violence that bring racialized peoples closer to premature deaths.
